Barbara S. Schneidman MD, MPH

Barbara S. Schneidman, MD, MPH currently holds the position of Clinical Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the University of Washington School of Medicine and is a member of the medical school admissions executive committee. She is a board-certified psychiatrist and a distinguished fellow of the American Psychiatric Association, fellow of the American College of Psychiatrists and chaired the Psychiatry Residency in Training Examination (PRITE). She is also immediate past chair of the AMA Senior Physicians Section. She is a former director and past chair of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and a director of the American Board of Medical Specialties. Her interest in medical regulation stems from her service on the Washington State Board of Medical Examiners and the Federation of State Medical Boards (FSMB) where she chaired the FSMB Impaired Physician Task Force as well as the FSMB Re-entry to Practice special committee. She served as the 70th President of the FSMB as well as serving as the Interim CEO in 2009.
