Barbara D. Fontana is BSc. in Biomedical Sciences (2012 - 2016) and an MSc. in Toxicological Biochemistry (2016 - 2018) at the Federal University of Santa Maria (Brazil) under Dr. Denis B. Rosemberg's supervision. During her master's she investigated the modulatory activity of taurine and alcohol in brain neurochemistry and behavior in zebrafish. She finished her Ph.D. in Pharmacy and Biomedical Sciences at the University of Portsmouth (UK) and developing research about the role of lphn3.1. gene in ADHD-related phenotypes and its interactions with the environment using zebrafish as an animal model. Currently, she is a postdoctoral researcher at Wayne State University (US).
