Banu Symington, MD has special interests in breast cancer, female cancers, lung cancer, and lymphoma. She is a fellow of the American College of Physicians (ACP) and is currently serving a four-year term as governor of the ACP’s Idaho Chapter. She is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, American Medical Association, and Southwest Oncology Group (SWOG), and is an active participant in SWOG’s Breast Cancer Working Group. She is also a member of Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.

Dr. Symington is very involved in clinical trials, leading clinical trials enrollment at St. Luke’s MSTI for the past five years. In 2011, she won an award from the national Cancer Therapy Evaluation Program (CTEP) for clinical trials participation. She also has a basic research background, and has investigated the role of integrin cell adhesion molecules in cancer cell division and metastasis.
