Dr. Aymen Almuhaidb, MD, is Director of the Adult Gastroenterology Fellowship Training Program at King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre (KFSH&RC), Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where he leads one of the region's premier fellowship programs in gastroenterology. He is also a consultant gastroenterologist, hepatologist, and advanced therapeutic endoscopist, specializing in the diagnosis and management of complex gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary diseases. His expertise includes advanced gastrointestinal endoscopy, endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR), endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD), third-space endoscopy (POEM/STER), and other minimally invasive therapeutic procedures.
Dr. Almuhaidb earned his medical degree from King Saud University before completing postgraduate training in internal medicine and gastroenterology. He subsequently pursued advanced fellowship training in gastroenterology and therapeutic endoscopy in the United States, where he developed expertise in complex endoscopic interventions, gastrointestinal oncology, and hepatobiliary disorders. He is committed to integrating cutting-edge endoscopic technologies with evidence-based medicine to deliver exceptional patient care.
As Director of the Adult Gastroenterology Fellowship Training Program, Dr. Almuhaidb has transformed fellowship education through curriculum innovation, simulation-based training, research mentorship, and international academic collaborations. Under his leadership, the fellowship has gained recognition for its outstanding scholarly productivity, with trainees presenting research at major international meetings such as Digestive Disease Week (DDW) and United European Gastroenterology (UEG) Week. His dedication to graduate medical education was recognized with the Best Program Director of the Year Award at King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre.
