Dr. Avneep Aggarwal serves as an Associate Program Director and holds joint appointments in the Departments of General Anesthesia and Intensive Care and Resuscitation. Following completion of residency training, he pursued fellowship training in Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine. His primary professional passion lies in medical education, with a strong commitment to training and mentoring the next generation of anesthesiologists.
Dr. Aggarwal serves as Director of the Medical Student Rotation in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit and as Director of the Virtual Critical Care Rounds series for residents. He is deeply engaged in mentorship across multiple stages of medical education and finds great fulfillment in supporting learners as they progress from students to residents and fellows, many of whom ultimately become professional colleagues.
His areas of expertise include perioperative critical care and graduate medical education, with a particular emphasis on simulation-based medical education. Outside of the clinical environment, Dr. Aggarwal values time with his family and enjoys reading about behavioral economics, human behavior, and decision-making.
