Austin Wellock MD, FACEP

Dr. Austin Wellock currently serves as Medical Director and Vice-Chair of Operations of the Summa Health System Akron City Emergency Department in Akron Ohio.

He has previously served as Medical Director at University Hospital Parma Medical Center and was the Assistant Director and Site Quality Director at Springfield Regional Medical Center in Springfield, OH. He also previously served as Clinical Faculty at Doctors Hospital in Columbus, OH.

Dr. Wellock received his undergraduate training at Ashland University in Ashland, OH. He earned his medical degree from the University of Toledo College of Medicine in Toledo, OH. Dr. Wellock completed his emergency medicine residency and served as Chief Resident at The Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus, OH. He was awarded The Ohio State University College of Medicine 2012 Emergency Medicine House Staff Teaching Award.

Dr. Wellock is a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians and is a member of the Emergency Medicine Residents’ Association, the American Medical Student Association and the American College of Physicians.
