Dr. Limia is MD, PhD, specialised in clinical microbiology, and has worked as a public health officer since 2003 and in the vaccines field since 1999. Her current position is Head of Service in the Immunisation Programme Unit. Directorate General of Public Health, Ministry of Health, Madrid, Spain. She works in the coordination, monitoring and evaluation of the National Immunisation Programme in Spain. She also takes part in the Vaccine Expert Group of the Spanish Medicines Agency and participates as an external ad visor to this Agency in the assessment of new vaccines. Her main areas of interest are vaccine preventable disease dynamics, their monitoring and the decision making processes for immunisation policies.
