Augusto Geyer

Augusto is a pharmacist who graduated from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), a specialist in Clinical Analysis from UFRGS. In 2007, he obtained the degree of specialist in Health Law from the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (Fiocruz). In 2014, he became a Master in Engineering and Materials Science at the Federal University of Campina Grande (UFCG). He is currently an Advisor and Deputy General Manager of the General Management of Health Products Technology at the National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa).

He joined the Agency in 2005 as a Specialist in Health Regulation and Surveillance, working in the Product Registration and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) certification processes. In 2006, he was appointed Deputy Manager for In Vitro Diagnostic Products. From 2014 to 2017, he acted as Manager of this area. He represents Anvisa in working groups of entities such as the International Medical Device Regulators Forum (IMDRF), Mercosur, International Standards Organization (ISO), and World Health Organization (WHO).
