Augustina M. Delaney RN, CNM, PhD

Augustina grew up in Montana and was always drawn to healthcare, but was uncertain of the specific area she wanted to pursue. She has always loved being around mothers and babies, but it was not until working in Cambodia that she found herself being called to midwifery. It was there she first came in contact with the inspiring work midwives were doing to improve the health and wellbeing of women and their families worldwide. The holistic approach to caring for women and their families that is essential to midwifery resonated with Augustina’s personal beliefs. Looking back she wonders why she didn’t pursue midwifery sooner. She moved to Atlanta in 2011 to being nursing school at Emory University and completed both her midwifery education and Ph.D. in nursing in 2016. During her time in Atlanta, she has loved seeing the Atlanta Birth Center grow from a dream to a reality and is thrilled to be serving as a part of the team.
