Dr. Attila Horváth is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Periodontology, Semmelweis University Budapest, Hungary.

He obtained his doctoral degree in dentistry in 1999 at the Semmelweis University. He completed his specialist training in ‘Tooth and Oral Diseases’ in 2002, in 2004 received his ‘Specialist in Periodontology’ and in 2014 his Ph.D. in Clinical Periodontology and Implant Dentistry.

Since 1999 he has been involved in a number of tutorial and research activities at the Semmelweis University. He was granted the prestigious ITI Scholarship at the UCL Eastman Dental Institute London in 2007 and in 2008 he was given a Clinical Research Fellow position in the Institute. His Tutorial activities include the mentoring of a Ph.D. student, junior researchers, graduates and undergraduates of the Hungarian, English and German language classes. His research interests include peri-implant soft tissue, implantation for periodontitis patients, alveolar ridge preservation and regenerative techniques.

Dr. Horváth is a Fellow and Speaker of the International Team for Implantology and also Director of the Budapest Study Club, member of the European Federation of Periodontology, board member of the Hungarian Society of Periodontology and external reviewer of international journals. He has given more than 100 lectures at national and international events and published over a dozen peer reviewed papers. In addition, Dr. Horváth maintains his private practice in Budapest limited to periodontology and implant dentistry.
