Athena Wong PhD

Athena Wong is a Scientist in the Department of Early Stage Cell Culture at Genentech where she has worked in the field of transient transfections for over eight years. She leads a group which supports material generation for discovery and preclinical studies through the use of transient transfections and stable pools.

Her group’s efforts in transfection optimization include the evaluation of new HEK293 and CHO host cell lines as well as the development of automated, small-scale transfection systems. Athena holds a Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and B.S. from the University of California at Davis.
