Astrid Wieringen PhD

Dr. Astrid Van Wieringen, Ph.D. is a Professor at the Catholic University of Leuven. She completed her Doctor of Philosophy at the University of Amsterdam. The main focus of her research group, Experimental Oto-rhino-laryngology, is on human auditory neural processing, auditory prostheses (cochlear implants, hearing aids), and auditory diagnostics. The research uses modeling, signal processing, imaging, electrophysiology, and behavioral tasks with a focus on human brain processing.
