Assaf Dotan MD

Dr. Assaf Dotan was born in Rehovot, where he spent most of his childhood and adult life.In 1995 he was drafted to IDF and served as a combat soldier. Since then, he has been climbing through the ranks and now he serves as a captain in IDF reserve forces. Dr. Dotan studied at the medical school of Semmelweis University, in Budapest, Hungary,from where he graduated cum laude. He did his internship at the Sheba Medical Center in Tel Hashomer, which he finished with excellence.

He completed his residency period in Ophthalmology in 2014 at the Rabin Medical Center in Petah-Tiqva, which was followed by a vitreo-retinal fellowship at the University of Alberta, in Edmonton, Canada. Currently,

Dr. Assaf Dotan has a position of a senior vitreo-retinal surgeon at the Ophthalmology department in the Rabin Medical Center. Being a senior staff doctor he is also much involved in the education of the medical students and residents and does clinical and basic research in addition to his clinical duties.
