Assaf A. Zeltzer MD, PhD, FACCP

Prof. Dr. Zeltzer A. Assaf did his specialty training in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University Hospital of Ghent after finishing his medical school at the University of Antwerp (Belgium). This was followed by several fellowships in both aesthetic and reconstructive surgery in Belgium and abroad. He became a clinical professor of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery after successfully defending his doctoral thesis (PhD) about the microsurgical treatment of Lymphedema.

He is currently an attending surgeon, co-founder, and director of the European Center for Lymphatic Surgery of the University Hospital of Brussels (VUB- Belgium). He has extensive experience with the full variety of (micro-) surgical treatments for lymphedema and micro-surgical breast reconstructions. He is also a Teaching Professor of Clinical Anatomy at ARTE (Anatomic Training, Teaching and Education) in the Free University of Brussels (VUB).
