Ashwin Subramaniam: after completing his medical degree in 1998 moved to Australia in 2003 from India. He has been an Intensive Care Medicine specialist at Frankston Hospital, Melbourne Australia since 2013. He is also the Director of Intensive Care at The Bays Private Hospital. He has special interests in Managing patients with Clinical Deterioration, clinical frailty, and quality improvement. Ashwin has published almost 30 articles on various COVID-19-related topics alone. He is a keen educator, was the Chair of the Victorian Intensive Care Education Network, and was the Medical Lead for Simulation between 2015-2017 in Peninsula Health. He is the co-founder and convener of The Critical STEPS Courses. He teaches various courses in Australia and overseas. He holds an Adjunct A/Prof position with Monash University Peninsula Clinical School. He is finishing a PhD through Monash University with the thesis topic “Quantifying the impact of frailty in critically ill patients”. He has over 15 publications in Critical care frailty.
