Biography :

Dr. Ashraf Alzaabi is the Head of Respiratory Division at Zayed Military Hospital in Abu Dhabi. He graduated from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland 1997 and did his training in Internal medicine and Respirology for six years at the University of Toronto, Canada 2000-2006 where he was board certified in both specialties in Canada and USA.

Since his arrival to UAE, he managed to develop a state of the art patient services in the Respiratory Medicine Division at Zayed Hospital and this included establishing the first sleep laboratory in Abu Dhabi and the first endoscopy center performing Endobronchial ultrasound-guided biopsy procedures in UAE. In 2007, he was appointed as a Clinical Assistant Professor in Internal Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FMHS) at UAE University.

Ashraf Alzaabi won many distinguished awards such as the prestigious Murray Muirhead Award (2001) from the University of Toronto during his residency program. In 2013, He won the Abu Dhabi Medical Distinction Award in Clinical Performance launched by the Health Authority in Abu Dhabi (HAAD).
