Dr. Ashok Completed graduate medical education in India (Delhi-AIIMS) and entire orthopedic / Surgical training in the USA. Pioneering work in developing orthopedic surgery as a specialty in Nepal and making their services available to a vast spectrum of the population through the establishment of B & B Hospital and Hospital & Rehabilitation Centre for Disabled Children (HRDC), a charitable institution. He trained over 34 orthopedic surgeons under personal preceptorship. Most of these surgeons are working in Nepal in prominent leadership roles. Postgraduate training in orthopedics still continues under the FCPS umbrella. He had large numbers of publications in national and international journals and chapters in international orthopedic texts. He is the recipient of many awards including the World of Children, Asia Pacific Star Award, World of Children Alumni Award, multiple orations national and international, etc.
