Ashley Sumrall, MD, FACP, practices Neuro-Oncology and Medical Oncology, and is an Associate Professor of Medicine with Atrium Health. She is a faculty member for the Internal Medicine residency program and Medical Oncology fellowship program at Carolinas Medical Center. She is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine in affiliation with the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for the Charlotte campus. Dr. Sumrall was the recipient of the Levine Cancer Institute President’s Award for 2015.

She has also been awarded Physician of the Quarter for Atrium Health and was recently recognized as a 2018 Charlotte Magazine Top Doctor. Her clinical interests include brain tumors, head and neck cancer, and metastatic breast cancer. With an extensive background in clinical research, she has presented original research at multiple national meetings and has been published widely in peer-reviewed medical literature. Dr. Sumrall is a member of the Society of Neuro-Oncology, the American Society of Clinical Oncology, and the American College of Physicians.

She has won awards and grants from professional organizations, including the American Medical Association and the American Society of Clinical Oncology. She has been active in the community to assist individuals who are chronically ill and homeless. She also started a nonprofit dedicated to providing housing for cancer patients who are homeless.
