Dr. Ashley Booth Norse, M.D., represents a new generation of young physicians who are stepping up to lead the profession. Last year, Dr. Norse became only the third woman to serve as President of the Duval County Medical Society, and she has been an ardent advocate for Florida's patients and doctors through organized medicine. She is an Associate Professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of Florida College of Medicine-Jacksonville and Associate Program Director of Emergency Medicine Training at UF. Since she received her M.D. from the Louisiana State University School of Medicine, it's no surprise that Dr. Norse is a huge LSU football fan. LSU played Alabama for the National Championship on the night of Dr. Norse's first DCMS Board meeting as President, and she was able to get business wrapped up in time to see the game. She and her husband, Ron Norse, are the proud parents of a one-year-old son, Hudson. Dr. Norse wrote a column for the Florida Times-Union on keeping kids safe during the summer, and you can check it out here.
