Asher Tal MD

Prof. Asher Tal is a graduate of the Medical School of the Technion Institute in Haifa. Prof. Tal is a Professor Emeritus in the Faculty of Health Sciences, Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, Beer-Sheva. Following his fellowship in Winnipeg, Canada, he established the Pediatric Pulmonology Unit and the Pediatric Sleep Laboratory at Soroka University Medical Center. He was the Head of Pediatric Department, Chairman of the Pediatric Division at Soroka, and Chairman of the Israeli Society of Pediatric Pulmonology. Currently he is the Medical Director of a Sleep laboratory and Clinic in Southern Israel, and a senior member of the Israeli Society of Sleep Medicine. Prof. Tal's research interests include childhood asthma and sleep-disordered breathing, pediatric and adult obstructive sleep apnea syndrome and insomnia. He authored or co-authored over 110 publications. Recently, Prof. Tal's research involves with various new devices for the diagnosis and treatment of sleep problems in children and adults.
