Dr. Ary Goldberger is the chief of the Division of Interdisciplinary Medicine and Biotechnology and director of the Margret and H.A. Rey Laboratory for Nonlinear Dynamics in Medicine at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts. He is also a professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School and the Program Director of the Research Resource for Complex Physiologic Signals (www.physionet.org), which is funded by the National Institutes of Health.
Dr. Goldberger has a long-standing interest in electrocardiography and non-invasive electrophysiology and is the author of two standard textbooks on ECG analysis (Goldberger AL. Clinical Electrocardiography: A Simplified Approach, 6th edition, St. Louis, Mosby, 1999, and Goldberger AL. Myocardial Infarction: Electrocardiographic Differential Diagnosis, 4th edition, Mosby-Year Book, 1991). Both books have been translated into a number of languages. Dr. Goldberger and his colleagues at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center have also created ECG Wave-Maven, an open-access program for medical students and clinicians.
