Dr. Arunan Kaliyaperumal, PhD. is a research fellow currently at Lilly Biotechnology Center (Eli Lilly & Co.) in San Diego and focusing on risk mitigation of biologics (safety and immunogenicity). In addition, he his major interest is in immunological tolerance induction in clinical studies. Prior to joining Lilly, Dr Kaliyaperumal had worked in clinical immunology at Amgen for over 13 years, focusing on immunogenicity and immunology.

Prior to Amgen, he has worked in Powderject Vaccines on the development of DNA vaccines for infectious disease and cancer. He also worked at Northwestern University Medical School as an assistant professor for about 4 years on the identification of naturally processed and presented peptides in human systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and ways to induce tolerance using the identified peptides.

Dr. Kaliyaperumal has published more than 30 articles in peer-reviewed journals, as well as 30 chapters in books and reviews. Dr. Kaliyaperumal holds an MS in chemistry and Ph.D. in immunology, did his post-doctoral training in immunology at the University of Chicago focusing on the basic mechanism of antigen presentation in transplantation, autoimmune disease, and immune tolerance.
