Prof. Dr. Arndt Vogel is Senior Physician at the Clinic for Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Endocrinology at Hannover Medical School. He has been a specialist in internal medicine since 2009 and a specialist in internal medicine - gastroenterology since 2011. After studying medicine in Gottingen and completing his internship (AiP), he moved to the Hannover Medical School in 2000 as an assistant doctor. After completing the first two years of his specialist training, he spent two years researching at the Oregon Health and Science University in Portland, USA, as part of a DFG grant. His scientific work deals with the understanding of fundamental processes of liver regeneration and tumor development. His work is supported, among others, by research grants from the German Research Foundation.

Since 2016, Prof. Vogel has been head of the DKG-certified Visceral Oncology Center at the MHH. He has been involved in national and international studies as head of clinical trials and investigator for many years and is also responsible for a number of his own investigator-initiated studies. Prof. Vogel is the coordinator of the current ESMO Practical Guideline on hepatocellular carcinoma. From 2005 to 2010, Prof. Vogel received a scholarship from the German Cancer Aid's Max Eder junior research group program for highly qualified young oncologists. In 2016, Prof. Vogel received the AIO Science Prize. Prof. Vogel has published numerous original scientific papers as well as reviews and book chapters.
