Dr. Arna Banerjee, MD, MMHC, FCCM, is a Professor of Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine, Surgery, and Medical Education & Administration. She is currently the Senior Director of the Center for Experiential Learning and Assessment (Simulation Center) and the Executive Medical Director of Critical Care Adult Enterprise at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Dr. Banerjee is a nationally recognized educator and education researcher with specific expertise in high-fidelity simulation-based training and clinical performance assessment. She has received research funding from the Foundation for Anesthesiology Education and Research (FAER) and published numerous papers and book chapters.

After completing her medical education in India, Banerjee completed her residency in Anesthesiology in 2002 and a fellowship in critical care medicine in 2003 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. She also earned herMaster of Management in Health Care degreefrom Vanderbilt University’s Owen Graduate School of Management. She is active in many organizations and has served in leadership roles in the Society of Critical Care Medicine’s Undergraduate Medical Education Committee and ICU Liberation Committee. Currently, she is serving on the Interactive Computer Editorial Board and the Perioperative Life Support and Resuscitation Editorial Board for the American Society of Anesthesiology and is a member of the Education Writing Group for the American Heart Association.
