Arjen Slooter MD, PhD

Arjen Slooter received a PhD in Epidemiology from Erasmus University Rotterdam, on his thesis on dementia. After a residency in Neurology (UMC Utrecht) and a fellowship in Intensive Care Medicine (AMC Amsterdam), he currently works in a multidisciplinary team of intensivists in the UMC Utrecht. His clinical focus is on neuro-ICU patients and on neurological complications of critical illness.

Still fascinated by neuropsychiatry, his research focus is on delirium in ICU patients, more specifically, drug side effects, imaging, long-term outcome after critical illness and the development of an EEG-based monitor.
