Ariel Shumaker-hammond MPH, MSW, LCSW

Ariel Shumaker-Hammond is originally from North Carolina and has been working with the perinatal/reproductive health community most of her career. After eight fun years in Los Angeles, she felt called to return home to the mountains. Ariel’s specialties as a therapist include perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, early childhood mental health, and infertility. She is currently the Director of Behavioral Medicine in the OB/GYN Department and has a small, private practice here in Asheville. She is also the current co-director of the Western NC Perinatal Emotional Health Network in addition to being a board member for the NC Infant Mental Health Association. Ariel enjoys photography, hiking, and spending time with her family and friends when she has a day off.
