Ari Badaines PhD

Dr Ari Badaines obtained his Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the United States. In 1980 he was awarded a one-year Post-doctoral fellowship with the National Institute of Mental Health in Washington,DC where he completed his certification requirements to be a psychodramatist. In about 1984, Ari qualified as a Trainer-Practitioner-Educator by the American Board of Examiners, the highest level of certification in psychodrama and group work.

In the 1980's he undertook training in Gestalt Therapy and from 1985 to the present he has been a member of the faculty of various psychodrama and Gestalt therapy training institutes. He has run experiential and training groups in the USA, UK, Europe, Scandanavia and Australia. Twice a year he returns to UK, Ireland, and Europe to provide training and run therapy groups. Ari also studied group therapy and Family and Couple Therapy. Later he did further training at the Institut for Family Therapy in London; both these courses had a component on sex therapy.

Ari did additional training workshops and he then began presenting workshops on Sexual Problems: Assesment and Treatment in the UK and Australia - these were well-received, fun and dynamic in their style. In addition to the training and experiential workshops that Ari runs, he also maintains a private practice in Balmain (Sydney) and is a consultant to Youth in Search, an NGO that works with adolescents.
