Dr. Ardeshir Hashmi is currently Director of the nationally ranked Center for Geriatric Medicine at Cleveland Clinic headquarters in Cleveland, U.S.A. Dr. Hashmi completed his medical school training at the prestigious Aga Khan University in Karachi, Pakistan followed by a Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship at Yale University. He went on to do his Residency and Chief Residency in Internal Medicine at the Yale-Saint Mary’s Hospital. He subsequently completed his Fellowship in Geriatric Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), Harvard Medicine and joined the staff at MGH “Senior Health”, a geriatric primary care practice and MGH’s first ever Level III Patient Centered Medical Home. Dr. Hashmi was subsequently appointed Medical Director of MGH Senior Health before joining Cleveland Clinic Geriatric Leadership.

Dr. Hashmi is a graduate of the Intermountain based Clinical Performance Improvement Leadership Program, the Cleveland Clinic Transforming Enterprise Leadership Development Program and the Value Based Healthcare Delivery program at the Harvard Business School Institute of Strategy and Competitiveness. He is currently a consultant on the Cleveland Clinic National Consultation service, seeing patients referred from all across the U.S.A. Dr. Hashmi serves on the Professional Advisory Board of the Alzheimer’s Association. His clinical interests include behavioral management of Dementia, Frailty, Polypharmacy and Goals of Care. Dr. Hashmi’s innovation interest is in Geriatric Population Health Dr. Hashmi grew up in the United Arab Emirates and is eager to contribute to the advancement of world class, compassionate care for senior citizens across the UAE in an endeavor to give back to the UAE, which has enriched him with many cherished memories.
