April D. Barnes RN

April Barnes is Director of Admissions and Business Development at The Next Door, Inc. She is a registered nurse with 12 years of patient-centered and compassionate nursing experience. Her most recent specialty focus has been in Mental Health and Addiction Medicine. Previous positions include Summit Medical Center and Northcrest Medical Center as an RN on a Medical/Surgical inpatient unit, as well as serving as the Weekend Nursing Supervisor at Cumberland Heights.

She started as a detox nurse at The Next Door in June 2016 and has since been promoted to her current role. She has a heart for women’s health and a passion for working with clients battling the disease of addiction. Previous speaking engagements include work in the faith-based community, as well as professional settings in an effort to bring awareness to the disease and break the stigma of addiction.
