Dr. Bhatia is an Assistant Professor in Department of Anaesthesia and Pain Management, Faculty of Medicine at University of Toronto and a Staff Anaesthesiologist in Departments of Anaesthesia and Pain Management at University Health Network (UHN), Mount Sinai Hospital (MSH), and Women’s College Hospital (WCH), Toronto. He trained in anaesthesia, acute and chronic pain management at New Delhi, Cambridge, and Toronto. He is now the director of Clinical Pain Services in Department of Anaesthesia at UHN, MSH, and WCH.
His current work interests include pharmacological and image-guided interventional treatments for acute, chronic, refractory neuropathic and cancer-related pain. He is currently pursuing a Masters in Clinical Epidemiology at the University of Toronto with a focus on assessing long-term outcomes following interventional pain procedures. He has a clinical and research interest in diagnosis and treatment of neuraxial and musculoskeletal pain. He is engaged in trials evaluating alternatives to steroids for treating neuropathic pain.
