Antonio Gasbarrini MD

Antonio Gasbarrini, born in Bologna the October 11th, 1963, is a Full Professor of Internal Medicine and Director of the Postgraduate School in Gastroenterology at the Universita Cattolica of Rome, Chairman of the Medical and Surgical Sciences Department and Director of Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology Unit at the Fondazione Policlinico Universitario Gemelli IRCCS.

Antonio Gasbarrini obtained his Medical Degree and specialties in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology at the University of Bologna. He completed his training at the University of Pittsburgh (USA). His fields of interest are Gut Microbiome and Metabolome, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Liver insufficiency, viral hepatitis, hepatocellular carcinoma, Liver transplantation, celiac disease, and intestinal malabsorption.
