Antonio Caycedo MD, MSc, FRCS, FACS, FASCRS, FRCSC

Dr. Caycedo was born in Colombia. He attended medical school in Bogota at El Bosque University and did postgraduate training in General Surgery at Javeriana University. Dr. Caycedo moved to Canada in 2004. He attended the University of Ottawa where he completed a residency in General Surgery, followed by a clinical fellowship in Colorectal surgery at the University of Western Ontario. ​After completion of his subspecialty training, Dr. Caycedo relocated to Sudbury practising at Health Sciences North.

Dr. Caycedo is involved in medical education with undergraduate and postgraduate students from the Northern Ontario School of Medicine where he is an assistant professor. Currently he is doing a Masters in Clinical Research through the University of Liverpool. ​Dr. Caycedo has advanced training in laparoscopic surgery, from both; University of Ottawa and the University of Western Ontario, also attending the European Institute of Tele Surgery in Strasbourg (France). He has been instrumental in the introduction of new procedures and technology in Northern Ontario including for instance, transanal endoscopic microsurgery.
