Dr. Antonia Sambola serves The Hospital Universitari Vall d’Hebron as a Consultant in Acute Cardiac Care in the department of Cardiology. Dr. Sambola leads the Working Group of Women in Cardiology of the Spanish Society of Cardiology and the Task Force on Cardiac emergencies in women of Acute Cardiac Care Association- European Society of Cardiology She serves as Editor of ACVC- ESC journal.

After receiving his medical degree from Barcelona University and completing an internship in Cardiology at Hospital Clinic in Barcelona, Dr. Sambola carried out a fellowship at the Atherothrombosis Research Unit at the Cardiovascular Institute, The Mount Sinai School of Medicine, New York, working on research projects on atherothrombosis under the direction of Dr. Valentín Fuster and Dr. Juan José Badimon.
