Anthony Joseph (FACEM) is a Senior Emergency Physician and Trauma Director at Royal North Shore Hospital, a leading teaching and referral hospital in Sydney, Australia. He is a co-founder and past President of the Australasian Trauma Society. He has also held a number of senior positions at the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine as a member of College Council and Chair of the Standards, Quality, Trauma and Ultrasound Committees. He was the inaugural Chair of the ACEM Non- Specialist Training Committee in 2008 and remains in that position.

He is also a Senior member of the ACEM Court of Examiners. He is a current member of the ACEM International Emergency Medicine Committee. He is a sub-editor and reviewer for “Injury” journal and a reviewer for “Emergency Medicine Australasia” journal. He has authored or co-authored over 30 articles for peer-reviewed journals and has written a number of book chapters. He was also involved in the formation of the Trauma subcommittee of the International Federation of Emergency Medicine.

He also remains involved in clinical research and health advocacy, as well as the teaching and education of junior doctors, nurses and allied health professionals both locally and in developing countries. His academic appointment is in the Discipline of Emergency Medicine, Sydney Medical School at the University of Sydney and he has been a tutor for medical students at USyd for many years.
