Anthony C. Nelson MD, FACS

Anthony Nelson, MD, FACS, is a surgeon with Ascension Medical Group. Dr. Nelson is board-certified in general surgery. He provides surgical care to a broad spectrum of adult surgical conditions, ranging from elective to emergent. Dr. Nelson has a special interest in vein care, hernia repair, minimally invasive surgery, thyroid surgery, cancer care, and colorectal surgery.

He is dedicated to providing the highest level of care to his patients, making sure they achieve the best possible outcomes. Dr. Nelson serves as an Assistant Clinic Professor of Surgery with the Medical College of Wisconsin as well as the Associate Program Director for the General Surgery Residency at Ascension SE Wisconsin Hospital - St. Joseph Campus. Outside of the office, Dr. Nelson enjoys spending time with family, being an active member at church, and supporting Milwaukee and Wisconsin athletic teams.
