Anthony L. Asher MD, FACS

Dr. Anthony Asher is Co-Medical Director, Carolinas Healthcare System Neuroscience Institute and Neurological Surgery Residency Program Director at Carolinas Medical Center. He is also Clinical Professor in Neurosurgery at the University of North Carolina and Vanderbilt University. He is Past-President, Congress of Neurological Surgeons and is a Director-at-Large of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons. Dr. Asher serves as Director, National Neurosurgery Quality and Outcomes Database and Co-Chairman, National Task Force on Quality Initiatives in Neurosurgery. He is a Director of the American Board of Neurological Surgery and Chairman of that group's Data and Quality Improvement Committee. He serves as Chairman, Privacy and Research Task Force of the AMA National Quality Registry Network Council. He is a member of the National Quality Forum Surgery Standing Committee and serves as an advisor to the HHS Secretary's Advisory Committee on Human Research Protections.
