Anthony Bewley BA (hons), MBChB, FRCP

Anthony Bewley is a Consultant Dermatologist at Barts Health (The Royal London Hospital and Whipps Cross University Hospitals NHS Trust). He qualified from Bristol University Medical School in 1987 and has trained in general dermatology, becoming a consultant in 1996. Dr. Bewley has trained in all aspects of dermatology and has broad experience in diagnosing and treating all dermatological disease.

He is very active in research. He is a principal investigator and a chief investigator for a variety of ongoing UK research trials. Dr. Bewley has developed an interest in how the skin interacts with the brain and the mind. He has a specialist clinic with a multidisciplinary team at least every week at the Royal London Hospital. In this clinic, Dr. Bewley and his colleagues see many patients whose life has been severely affected by their skin disease. He is especially interested in how patients develop psychologically in relation to their skin conditions. Dr. Bewley has written many peer-reviewed papers, chapters, and textbooks on a variety of skin disease, and continues in active dermatology research.
