Annie Whelan

Annie is responsible for oversight and planning of all of the day to day running of the organisation under the board of trustees, and previously served Seaview as a trustee before taking up her present role. Annie spent 20 years living in the USA working for a street homeless outreach in inner city Detroit, and later in mental health in Ohio where she supported the set up of service user run enterprises in two counties.

After returning to England in 2003, she managed mental health advocacy services in a variety of settings: community, inpatient, forensic and prison and during this time connected with Seaview via shared advocacy on behalf of service users. Annie went on to work for the Association of Mental Health Providers a national umbrella organisation as development lead.
