Dr Annelies Wilder-Smith studied Mandarin in Chengdu, Sichuan, China. Together with her husband, she has lived and served in many countries, with more than 15 years spent in Asia. Currently she is Associate Professor and Director of the Travelers’ Screening and Vaccination Clinic, National University Hospital, Singapore. Professor Annelies Wilder-Smith has published over 100 scientific articles, and edited and authored several books. In addition to her academic work, she is involved in development work in South East Asia. She is also advisor to a rural HIV prevention project in South China.
