Anne has an active research program that has developed over many years. Key research areas are: patient experience (especially in relation to chronic disease), mental health (nursing staff wellbeing, psychosocial patient care), pain management, and evidence translation. Anne works with clinicians on questions that originate as issues/problems for industry and she builds research projects based on previous work; where possible, continuing until a change in clinical practice occurs through research translation, and the issue/problem is improved.
Anne is particularly passionate about improving the wellbeing of nurses, and is currently facilitating workshops in Western Australia which utilise the latest research and intervention approaches, from understanding the influence of control on the stress response, to more concrete interventions such as mindfulness and even laughter therapy!
