Anne Dancey graduated from Glasgow University in 1999 with distinction and honors in medicine and surgery. After completing her general surgical training at the University Hospital of North Staffordshire, she was one of the youngest surgeons in the United Kingdom to be appointed as a Plastic Surgery Registrar and pass the specialist exam in Plastic Surgery. She was also awarded a master’s degree in medical science with Honours.

Dancey has been trained in all areas of aesthetic plastic surgery by some of the best cosmetic surgeons in the UK. Whilst she performs the full repertoire of plastic procedures, her special interest lies in aesthetic and reconstructive breast surgery and lymphoedema surgery. She had the privilege of completing a 6-month fellowship at the world-renowned breast reconstruction unit in Gent, Belgium, focusing primarily on the latest techniques in micro-vascular free-flap and aesthetic breast surgery.

Dancey has been a full-time NHS consultant at the University Hospital of Birmingham for 6 years and is a Specialty Advisor for Plastic Surgery for the Royal College of Surgeons and council member of the British Association of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons (BAPRAS) overseeing the West Midlands. She is well-published, being the author of over 30 papers and several prestigious book chapters, and regularly peer reviews articles for the major international plastic surgery journals. She has spoken at international meetings and has been a tutor for the Oncoplastic Master's degree at the University of East Anglia.
