Anne Ferguson-Smith is the Arthur Balfour Professor of Genetics and Head of the Department of Genetics at the University of Cambridge. A graduate of the University of Glasgow (BSc Molecular Biology) and of Yale University (PhD Biology), Anne's research addresses functional genomics and epigenetic inheritance in development, health and disease.
Anne currently chairs the MRC Molecular and Cellular Medicine Board, is a Trustee of BBSRC Babraham Institute and of Darwin College Cambridge, and is a member of the Galton Institute Council. She has served on many national and international advisory boards, funding committees and awards panels and is an elected member of EMBO, a Fellow of the Academy of Medical Sciences and a Fellow of the Royal Society.
