Annalie Basson PhD, MPhysT

Annalie Basson Ph.D., M.Phys.T (research), B.Sc. Physiotherapy, OMT certificate) isa physiotherapist in private practice in Pretoria, South Africa. She is a clinician, working in private practice for the past 38 years, has been involved in post-graduate teaching since 1998, and an invited speaker internationally and presented courses and papers nationally and internationally. She has a special interest in spinal pain and nerve-related disorders and feels strongly about promoting evidence-based practice to improve patient outcomes. Her passion is physiotherapy and in particular neuromusculoskeletal physiotherapy. She has published several articles in peer-reviewed journals and serves as a reviewer for a number of journals. Her involvement in the OMPTG goes back to 1988 and has also served as a committee member for PainSA and the PMPG. She was the first treasurer and then president of the International Federation of Orthopaedic Manipulative Physical Therapy. Currently, she is chair of the SASP CPD Accreditation Panel.
