Annabelle Farnsworth MBBS (Hons), FRCPA, FIAC, Dip Cytopath (RCPA), RANZCOG (Hon)

Adjunct Professor Annabelle Farnsworth graduated with First Class Honours from the University of Sydney and trained as an anatomical pathologist at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. For a number of years, she was Director of Anatomical Pathology at the Royal Hospital for Women, Paddington, before joining the Douglass Practice in 1995. Prof. Farnsworth is a specialist gynecological histopathologist and cytopathologist and is the Director of GynaePath at Douglass Hanly Moir Pathology (DHM). She is well known throughout Australia and internationally for her contributions to cytology and gynecological pathology.

Prof. Farnsworth is a past President of the Australian Society of Cytology, the Australian Society of Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology, and a past member of the Executive Committee of the International Academy of Cytology. Presently, she holds the DHM Chair in Pathology at the School of Medicine, University of Notre Dame. Prof. Farnsworth has published extensively in the area of gynecological cytology and pathology and has a particular interest in quality standards and screening. In 2013, she was awarded an Honorary Fellowship by the Royal Australian College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. Prof. Farnsworth is the Chief Medical Officer at DHM, a position she has held since 2000. In this capacity, she is more than happy to assist doctors with any inquiries relating to the practice.
