Anna Strömberg is Professor of Nursing Science at Linköping University and Linköping University Hospital, Sweden. Her research and clinical guidance has led to implementation of nurse-led heart failure clinics throughout Europe, and she has been involved in the development of a nursing curriculum for European heart failure nurses. She has developed computer-based educational materials for patients which are available in eight languages and with more translations in progress.
Her research has contributed to international clinical guidelines, and she has served on guideline committees for heart failure care. She leads two large research programmes, ‘Information and communication technology to support self-care in chronic illness’ and ‘User driven innovation: Symptom monitoring after hospitalisation in patients with advanced heart failure – a NordicBaltic study’, and, together with Professor Tiny Jaarsma, leads a large research group in cardiovascular nursing with more than 15 PhD students, 5 postdocs and many international visiting scholars.
