Anna Halama is an Assistant Professor of Research in Physiology and Biophysics at Weill Cornell Medicine Qatar (WCMQ). She obtained her PhD from the Technical University of Munich(TUM) in Germany in 2013. During her thesis, conducted at Helmholtz Zentrum Munchen, she used metabolomics as a technology to describe cellular processesincluding apoptosis and adipogenesis in various in vitro models.

Before her faculty appointment, Dr. Halama obtained research training at WCMQ in Prof. Suhre’s where she worked as a postdoctoral fellow and research associate. She has been working in the field of metabolomics for over 9 years, with a major interest in complex diseases, particularly in cancer, diabetes, and psoriasis.
