Anna-katharine Brem MSc, PhD, MASNP

Brem is a neuropsychologist and her research focuses on changes of cognitive functions over the lifespan in healthy subjects, and during neurological disease (Stroke and Alzheimer’s Disease). Her main interest lies in the enhancement, preservation, and restoration of cognitive functions and the neurophysiological processes underlying such processes.

Her use noninvasive brain stimulation (transcranial electrical and magnetic stimulation) combined with cognitive training, electroencephalography, and behavioral measures.

Understanding the underpinnings of cognitive changes in the intact and impaired brain is relevant to devise treatment approaches aiming to improve cognitive functions.

Brem currently working on an international collaborative project (SHARP: Strenghtening Human Adaptive Reasoning and Problem-Solving), funded by IARPA (Intelligence Advanced Research Projects Activity) and am a visiting faculty member of the Berenson-Allen Center for Noninvasive Brain Stimulation, Harvard Medical School.
