Ann E. Goebel-Fabbri is a specialist in eating disorders treatment and weight management, however, Goebel-Fabbri's private practice is focused on psychotherapy for a variety of issues. Goebel-Fabbri has unique training in health psychology which helps people cope with the emotional side of chronic disease.

During Goebel-Fabbri's time at Joslin, Goebel-Fabbri's treatment and research covered the spectrum of eating problems from anorexia, bulimia, and insulin restriction to binge eating and obesity. Goebel-Fabbri directed diabetes/eating disorders program and spearheaded a collaboration between Joslin and an eating disorder center in the Boston area - creating a staff training program to help them better address the unique needs of these patients. Goebel-Fabbri continues to teach nationally about these issues and wrote a monthly blog, "Weighty Matters," for Psychology Today. Goebel-Fabbri's work has been featured on NPR, BBC Radio, Good Morning America, CNN, USA Today, Huffington Post, and The New York Times.

Goebel-Fabbri a co-creator of Why WAIT at Joslin (Weight Achievement and Intensive Treatment), a weight management and wellness program for type 2 diabetes, and a senior contributing author to the 2014 book, The Diabetes Breakthrough, based on this successful program. Goebel-Fabbri recently published a book through Routledge Press titled, Prevention and Recovery from Eating Disorders in Type 1 Diabetes: Injecting Hope. It aims to help patients, loved ones, and healthcare professionals with this complex dual diagnosis.
