Dr. Bellows, a paramedic and board certified trauma nurse, received her BSN at the University of Nebraska in Omaha. She then earned master's and doctoral degrees in education from the University of New Mexico. Ann has been involved in trauma care‐in prehospital, flight, emergency, and ICU settings–for over 25 years, working in small level 3 facilities and major level I trauma centers. She has been involved with the Trauma Center Association of America, developing educational offerings, conducting research, and analyzing surveys.

Dr. Bellows has a passion for education and simulation training and has extensive experience providing education to health care professional in the U.S. and abroad. Ann has contributed to several textbooks and multimedia educational materials. She co-authored the Prehospital Trauma Course and is currently involved in the development and delivery of the Advanced Medical Life Support Program. Dr. Bellows serves as adjunct faculty for Eastern New Mexico University and still finds time to volunteer for her local fire department.
