Dr. Anka A. Vujanovic is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. She is the Director of Psychology Services at the UT Harris County Psychiatric Center. She also holds appointments as Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Houston and as WOC Research Psychologist at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center.

Dr. Vujanovic leads the Trauma and Addiction Research Program in the Center for Neurobehavioral Research on Addiction. Her primary research interest is focused on better understanding biopsychosocial mechanisms underlying the co-occurrence of posttraumatic stress and substance use disorders, with the ultimate goal of developing more effective, evidence-based treatment programs. Her secondary, interrelated interest is rooted in examining etiological and maintenance processes pertinent to psychopathology among trauma-exposed populations and advancing research-driven early intervention programs.
